Blizzard loses 800,000 WoW players

Activision Blizzard

Today the breaking news - Blizzard subscribers down 800,000- is filled in every game site. To tell you the truth, I still can't believe in what I have read.

Originally, I thought after BlizzCon, after the new expansion- Mists of Pandaren's announcement, Blizzard might be strong enough to try and stem the tide. But, so far, there is so little possibility that things will turn to good soon. On the contrary, now Blizzard is facing a fiercer situation never had before.

The company reports that subscriptions have dropped from 11.4 million to 10.3, representing a loss of 10% of the playerbase. These numbers represent the total worldwide, and Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said that most of the losses were suffered in the eastern market. No matter where the losses come from, this continues the downward trend of the title during the past year. Blizzard declined to provide a subscriber forecast for the next quarter.

The good news is that the company has whooped expectations by nearly tripling its profit for the quarter over this time last year. During this past quarter, Activision Blizzard raked in $627 million worth of sales, of which $148 million is pure profit. A majority of the revenue -- 62% -- comes from its digital sales.

The company expects 2012 to be even better, with titles like Diablo III and another Call of Duty in the works. CEO Bobby Kotick is nothing if not confident in the company's future: "I believe our unyielding commitment to excellence and our creative talent around the globe will continue to position Activision Blizzard as the leader in interactive entertainment."

But you don't have to wait for long if you want to play Diablo 3, since SwagVault provide the pay trial for Diablo 3 beta. It's very lucrative, only need a few bucks, but you can play this game advance than the most players. http://www.swagvault.com/activity/201110diablo3/?utm_source=Marketing&utm_medium=blogger&utm_term=Blizzard_subsriber&utm_campaign=111109 Yeah, it's definitely worthy of try. Meantime, SwagVault offer customers a good chance to know more about the WoW patch 4.3. A prize contest for patch 4.3, no requirement, but rich prizes rewarded.
