RIFT's Infernal Dawn raid with new details, screenshots

If you're in need of cheap instant RIFT USA Gold , cheap RIFT USA gold, RIFT Powerleveling ,RIFT Item, please check on swagvault.com.

Have you ever imagined that if dragons were made of gold? Well, that would be much cooler, of course, I do think so. And, though, Rift has just the instance for you.

Last week we got to know some information of the Earth Wing of RIFT's upcoming raid, Infernal Dawn through a video tour. Now PC Gamer has got some more screenshots and details on the new dungeon, which pits players up against the Golden Maw, the Wanton, and their decidedly daft dragon leaders, Maelforge and Laethys. Laethys, in case we haven't mentioned it yet, is the dragon of earth whose form is composed entirely of delicious gold and precious gems. It's also worth mentioning that this is a dragon whose sacrifice of choice is a pretty boy or girl who has had his or her eyes removed and replaced with rubies. So yeah, may want to take her down ASAP, guys.

Unfortunately, we've still yet to get a look at Maelforge himself, but we're sure Mr. I-want-to-sow-the-seeds-of-discord-and-chaos-everywhere will show his face as the release of Infernal Dawn draws ever closer.

'Just getting started': Scott Hartsman rallies the RIFT faithful for 2012

RIFT

"What an amazing year it has been," begins Scott Hartsman in his one-year state of the game report for RIFT. Citing Trion Worlds' ability to "think about MMOs a little bit differently than everyone else," Hartsman recalls the mountain of accomplishments of the previous year, including the seven major content updates leading up to the recent Update 1.7 and the RIFT Lite service.

The best part? "We're just getting started," he exults.
Hartsman identifies the "key themes" of the team's 2012 focus, including playing with other people, improving the soul system, leaping forward in PvP, coming up with new ways to interact with the game world, and expanding RIFT's endgame. The interactions theme is intriguing, especially considering his phrasing: "When we say interact, we mean both interacting with the game in non-combat ways, and interacting from out of game entirely."

The letter dives into more specifics with each of these themes before culminating in a promise of even more surprises to come later this year.

Now check out the RIFT bonus for Child's play:
Since 2003, we've set up and organized Child's Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. Over the years, you as a community have answered the call and come together to raise millions of dollars. Child's Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff, we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids. By clicking on a hospital location on our map, you can view that hospital's wish list and send a gift. Child's Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we  purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.

RIFT vs. SWTOR, Your Decide

Thanksgiving has come finally. Surely, most of players have claimed the coupon code on SwagVault yet. Yes, 10% coupon codes are giving away on http://www.swagvault.com/ to celebrate Thanksgiving, but only for one day. And membership rewards is still valid. Take the time and don’t miss out. Another great news for star wars fans, in just a few weeks, Star Wars: The Old Republic will launch, and on every gamer's mind is the subject of how many players it will lure away from other games. It's quite likely that every MMO will suffer a dip in numbers when SWTOR launches -- heck, even World of Warcraft is bracing for impact with a stock downgrade. But as gamers know, a launch is one thing, but how a game does in the months after is more important. So today we don’t discuss which one is better than the other; rather, we’ll discuss the differences that might appeal to one playstyle over another.

Sword and board vs. blasters and sabers
Apparently, the most obvious thing that sets RIFT apart from SWTOR is the genre. And I've heard other players look at this completely differently. Some won't play SWTOR mainly because it's not fantasy, while others are ordering it because they're burned out on elves and ogres and are looking for something different. I think for RIFT, the core population that is actively playing and engaged with the content will probably stick around.

Worlds
Not only me, but most players are like me that really enjoy the "worlds" of RIFT and SWTOR, but for different reasons. Both are stunning and really help convey the storylines that you play through. But I'm more of a Bartle explorer-type at times, and I've found more opportunity to do that in RIFT. It's not that I can't explore in SWTOR; it's that when I'm out and about in the world, I find that my travel is driven by the story, and I have little incentive to go off the beaten path. RIFT's shinies, zone puzzles, and discovery experience reward those who like to poke around in nooks and crannies, and I haven't found much of that yet in SWTOR (although I haven't played the higher-level content in beta).

Souls vs. classes, and the finality of it all
One of the stark differences between RIFT and SWTOR is the difference in the class system. RIFT sells itself as a game where you have the freedom to swap soul builds at will, while SWTOR has made it clear that your choice of class is important and that even your advanced class choice is not meant to be swapped over and over. For RIFT fans who are used to being able to adjust their roles based on the content and group make-up, that will be an adjustment if they choose to play SWTOR.

Solo vs. MMO
SWTOR is very solo-friendly, but I actually had to adjust to seeing "LFG" requests in open channels again. I really enjoy the break from needing to send tells in order to get an invite. There are plenty of players who will debate the merits of a LFG system, and I'm not necessarily advocating its presence or absence. But I do think it's a factor when you look at RIFT vs SWTOR because there's a certain chunk of the population that does enjoy the freedom of coming and going from groups without the obligatory requests for invites.

Peering down the third turn
There is one factor that should really help RIFT over the long run compared to other MMOs, and that's the depth and speed of its content updates. With the field becoming increasingly crowded, RIFT's approach is probably going to benefit it in the long run. The real question is whether Trion Worlds can continue this rapid pace for much longer.

Overall, I think there is enough difference between RIFT and SWTOR. There's no doubt that players will probably prefer one over the other, but that will probably be based on differences in gameplay rather than differences in quality. Yes, and still don’t forget to claim the 10% coupon code on SwagVault.com.

RIFT introduces the Ember Isle to players

It's time to talk about the RIFT new patch 1.6. The heavily anticipated patch 1.6 has hit the servers, and that means players will be off to the brand-new Ember Isle, a massive zone that's stated to be twice the size of anything else. But that's not the only thing coming along with the patch -- there are new zone events, a new set of Planar Attunements, new group content (both a dungeon and a raid), and a new warfront mode.

Not quite enough to pique your interest? Then take a look at the trailer just past the cut, which gives an overview of the lore driving players to explore the island. There's more to the story than simply "the spot where the Kelari used to live," and the trailer shows it off in all its glory. Take a look past the break to watch it, perhaps while you fire up the game's launcher and get down to the brass tacks of updating.

What I want beyond 1.6 in RIFT

Rift big fans are looking forward to meet the Rift v1.6 update. And also, the Rift team has been hinting around for the last several weeks about big changes coming to the game beginning with the v1.6 update. In today's topic, Bill Murphy - the mmorpg.com Managing Editor springboards from what has been said so far and into what he'd like to see beyond what is known already.
This week’s column is going to be short and sweet. 1.6 is promising to further revitalize the game’s end-game for those who can’t raid with a whole new zone, oodles of new quests, and in general just a crap-ton more content thrown into the mix. But what can the game do in 1.7 and beyond to keep itself stalwart and steady into 2012?

When the v1.6 update comes, you must need Rift gold, or Rift item, or Rift time time card. Then where will you go? Choose SwagVault!

Tell People Your MMO Story

The Rift development team is looking for players' stories about MMOs, what draws us in and whether or not the characters reflect who we are in "real life".

I think it's a great idea. As for me, I will choose a character that suits me and like me. And players could know each other well thorugh reading the stories!

According to the post on the Rift forums, the team has the "opportunity [to work] with a media outlet to contribute to a story about the real lives of gamers. This is an opportunity to tell your story and let the non-gaming world know a little about us and why we love our games!"

Yeah, let's pretend to be a writer for a while! :) Write down our gaming stories and our own character's. :) And I will also talk about my loved online store SwagVault. Without this store, I can't be so good at RIFT.
